I AM VOTING FOR SCOTLAND

Holyrood was created to give Scotland a voice, a place where decisions about our nation are made by those who understand its people and priorities. Yet, here we are in 2025, a year before the next Scottish General Election and we are still watching Unionist parties occupy seats in Scotland’s Parliament while taking their orders from Westminster.

Think about that: a Parliament built for Scotland, with representatives who serve a system that fights tooth and nail to deny Scotland its future. Is this what self-determination looks like?

The presence of Unionist parties in Holyrood is an insult to what should be a purely Scottish Parliament. Time and again, they’ve worked to undermine Scotland’s ambitions, working against progressive policies, stifling debate on independence, and serving the interests of the Union instead of the Scottish people.

Oh they like to think they are serving Scotland but in truth how can any unionist party serve Scotland.

Holyrood’s purpose is clear: to represent Scotland. Not the Union. Not Westminster but Scotland. It is a devolved Parliament with devolved powers that have nothing to do with the Union, so why have parties that are extensions of Westminster?

These parties act as agents of another government, standing in the way of what this Parliament was designed to achieve.

That has to change.

The parties of the Union have obviously been democratically elected, I accept this, but I don’t have to like it and I will use every mechanism to prevent foreign political entities from demeaning the house of Scottish democracy.

The 2026 election is about more than any one party or manifesto, it’s about creating a Parliament that reflects all of Scotland and the different and evolving nature and diverse opinions within the independence movement. Yes, the SNP has delivered good governance, and their contribution is undeniable.

But independence is bigger than one party.

Holyrood should reflect everyone who believes in Scotland’s sovereignty, not just those who vote SNP. Our Parliament should represent the full spectrum of the independence movement, a united voice for Scotland, not a divided one.

A pro-Scottish Parliament will mean putting your political differences aside and looking at the bigger picture. It means electing representatives who prioritize Scotland above all else, no matter their party label. We cannot get bogged down with party rhetoric and rivalry. This is especially true within our independence movement.

No bickering about policy or trust. If we are truly one movement working together pulling in the same direction for the same goal, we need to have diverse Pro Scottish Pro Independence representation in Holyrood.

It’s about sending a message to the world: this is Scotland’s Parliament, and it will serve Scotland’s people, not anyone else.

In 2026, we have a choice. We can allow Unionist voices to continue with their pantomime behaviour and lack of constructive debate or we can take a stand. We can vote for a Parliament that believes in Scotland’s potential and fights for its future.

We can elect a Pro Scottish government and Pro Scottish Opposition committed to putting Scotland first, who want self-determination, and a nation where decisions are made by us, for us.

A Pro Scottish Government and Opposition would take their lead from the people of Scotland NOT their English based headquarters of their union serving party.

Why have we never considered this a democratic path before? More Pro Scottish MSPs on seats in Holyrood cannot be a bad thing. And this is highly achievable. Unless of course you value and trust Westminster based parties more than you do Scottish based parties.

If that’s the case perhaps you should stick to political campaigning for your team and your team alone and avoid the far more important bigger picture. It may be too much for you to accept smaller Scottish parties and easier to accept Labour, The Conservatives, Libdems and now Reform who incidentally want to roll back devolution and centralise control from Westminster again.

This isn’t just an election it’s a defining moment. A moment to reclaim Holyrood and make it what it was always meant to be: a Parliament for Scotland. The mechanism to do this is already built in within our electoral voting system, and there is nothing undemocratic about using it to deliver this.

So, in 2026, let’s vote for Scotland. Let’s vote for a Parliament that reflects our hopes, our ambitions, and our belief in what this nation can achieve. Let’s vote for a future where Holyrood stands united behind one purpose.
